A Dowry of Blood

by S.T. Gibson

This book was so well written!

The story is about Constanta and is written as a letter to her nameless lover. While Constanta is dying she is saved by a man who finds her and turns her into a vampire. After her initial bloodlust she is swept into a lavish and loving life with her new love. After a while their lifestyle seems to change and so does Constantas lover. The story spans over the course of various decades and includes multiple lovers and is set in cities all over Europe.

The writing style is very lyrical and almost gives the book a magical feeling. I really liked Constanta as a main character and enjoyed the style of the book as a letter to her nameless lover. The story itself is very character driven, which I enjoyed. Sadly, I felt like something was missing and could not really connect to the overall story. I would still recommend this to anyone who likes poetic writing styles and romance.
